Cookie Policy.
A short list of the cookies and similar technologies on biosarthi.com — and what you can do about them.
Contents
1. What is a cookie
A cookie is a small text file a website stores on your device. Similar technologies — local storage, session storage, pixel tags — work in related ways. Throughout this policy, "cookies" includes all of these unless we say otherwise.
Cookies are not malware. They make sites work (remembering preferences, maintaining sessions) and they let site operators understand how the site is used. Some cookies are necessary; some are not. You decide which non-necessary ones to allow.
2. Cookie categories
We use a simple three-category split, set via the consent banner on your first visit:
- Necessary — required for the site to function (consent state, security, abuse prevention). Always on; cannot be disabled.
- Analytics — help us understand which pages help prospects make decisions, and which do not. Off by default; on only with your consent. We do not use cookies that fingerprint or profile individuals.
- Marketing — used by embedded third parties (YouTube, LinkedIn) when you interact with their content. Off by default; on only with your consent.
3. Cookies we set
These are the only cookies BioSarthi sets directly. We do not run any first-party advertising or behavioural-tracking script.
| Name | Category | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
biosarthi_consent | Necessary | Stores your cookie-consent choice (necessary / analytics / marketing) so we don't ask again on every page load. | 12 months |
biosarthi_consent_v | Necessary | Version stamp on the consent record so we can re-prompt if this policy changes materially. | 12 months |
Both are stored in localStorage, not as traditional HTTP cookies. They never leave your browser.
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views in aggregate. It is cookieless by design — it neither sets cookies nor stores any device identifier — so we do not need your consent to use it. If you would still prefer not to be counted, your browser's "Do Not Track" setting and standard privacy extensions both block it.
4. Third-party cookies
Some sections of the Site embed third-party content. When you interact with that content, the third party may set its own cookies under its own policy. We do not control these and we do not receive their data.
| Provider | When loaded | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube (Google LLC) | When you play an embedded video | Video playback, recommendations, anti-abuse. Google Privacy Policy. |
| LinkedIn (Microsoft Corporation) | When the LinkedIn feed loads in the Insights section | Embedded post display, anti-abuse. LinkedIn Privacy Policy. |
| Google Fonts | On every page | Font delivery from fonts.googleapis.com. Does not set cookies; logs an IP for delivery. |
If you decline marketing cookies, we don't load YouTube or LinkedIn embeds until you click into them — at which point loading them is itself the consent.
5. How to manage cookies
5.1 On this site
Use the "Cookie settings" link in the footer to change your choice at any time. The change takes effect immediately.
5.2 In your browser
Every modern browser lets you block, delete, or restrict cookies. The exact steps differ:
- Chrome — Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
- Safari — Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
- Firefox — Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
- Edge — Settings → Cookies and site permissions.
Blocking necessary cookies may prevent parts of this Site from working. Blocking non-necessary cookies is supported and will not break the Site.
6. Changes to this policy
We update this policy when our cookie use changes or when third parties materially change theirs. The effective date at the top reflects the latest change. We will re-prompt for consent if the categories of cookies we use materially expand.
